Сонет

Me siento como enfermo: turbado el corazón,
hastiado de la gente, cansado de este cuento,
sueño con los diamantes de la coronación
y con un yatagán, afilado y sangriento.

Hoy –sin superchería– me asalta la impresión
de que el tatarabuelo era un huno violento,
un tártaro bisojo: lo taró la infección
que a través de los siglos me toca con su aliento.

Callo; me desvanezco; ceden los torreones:
una ciudad de cúpulas azules, floreciente,
perfumada de patios de jazmín… ¡hela aquí!;

y un océano blanco, todo espuma en jirones:
y rocas de granito que alumbra el sol poniente…
¡ah, sí!, aquí nos batimos; aquí es donde caí.
