Ella

Она

Conozco a una mujer: una quietud,
una amarga fatiga de palabras,
habita en el misterio de la luz
que brilla en sus pupilas ensanchadas.

Su alma tan sólo se abre ávidamente
al cobre de la música del verso;
ante la vida larga y sus deleites
su gesto se hace sordo y altanero.

Y con tanto sigilo, y con demora,
qué extraño es su pausado caminar;
no se puede decir que sea hermosa,
pero es dueña de mi felicidad.

Si ansío libertades y me siento
orgulloso y feraz, la voy a ver:
para aprender lo que es dolor sereno
y dulce, en su delirio y languidez.

Ella reluce en horas de zozobra
y lleva los relámpagos asidos,
y sus sueños contrastan como sombras
del ardiente arenal del paraíso.
