Idzie On szlakiem perłowym
Po kobiercu wonnych traw,
Lud zajęty bezcelowym,
W kołowrocie ziemskich spraw.

„Hej, pasterzu! Hej, rybaku!
Pragnę was przy sobie mieć,
Paście stada mego Znaku
I ciągnijcie moją sieć.

Lepsze ryby albo owce
Od człowieczych, pięknych dusz?
Wy, niebiańskich sfer handlowcy,
Wam, zarobek zbędny już!

Bo nie domek w Galilei
Będzie darem za wasz znój —
Ale raj w świetlistej bieli,
Czystszej niźli jasny zdrój.

Słońce w zenit już wstąpiło,
Końca czasów słychać grom,
Lecz Synowi będzie miło
Gdy wejdziecie w Ojca Dom”.

Jakże wzgardzić Jego Znakiem
Wśród życiowych, ziemskich burz?!
Idzie pasterz wraz z rybakiem
Za Niebiańskim Łowcą Dusz.
