In front of golden gates of Eden
Two roses blossomed with much pomp,
But rose is known as passion symbol,
And passion is an earthly romp.

One rose so gently shows her pink side,
Confused, as maiden by her mate,
The other, purple one, turns crimson,
By passion's flame she's burned of late.

And both of them are at the Threshold
Of Knowledge... Did the Lord so judge?
And to the secrets of the Heaven
Did He add passion's flame with grudge?!

Две розы

Перед воротами Эдема
Две розы пышно расцвели,
Но роза — страстности эмблема,
А страстность — детище земли.

Одна так нежно розовеет,
Как дева, милым смущена,
Другая, пурпурная, рдеет,
Огнем любви обожжена.

А обе на Пороге Знанья…
Ужель Всевышний так судил
И тайну страстного сгоранья
К небесным тайнам приобщил?!
