Зо копища змієва,
зі самого Києва,
за жінку дістав чарівницю,
мав думку - забавницю,
гадав - своєнравницю,
пташинку собі витівницю.

Покличеш - наморщиться,
обнімеш - топорщиться,
Як місяць - то й чине журитись,
і зойкіт - стогнання,
як при похованні
когось там, - і хоче топитись.

Кажу їй: «Хрещеному,
тобою привченому
неможна прийтись не до двору.
Візьми лють, не стій,
знеси в Чорторий,
на грішну неси Лису гору.

Мовчить - тільки щулиться,
моя ти розумниця.
В усім її шкода, затятую,
як пташку підбиту,
березу підриту
над прірвою, Богом заклятую.
