Vi satt i halvmørkret og sansa
det song i feler, og De dansa.
På ein grønnlig silkevevnad
liljer, sommarfuglar sa det
var som om dei sjølve livna
til ei elektrisk sol som gladde,
og akasiar over stien

skugga på kulissestrien.

De såg ut som ein konfektask,
utsøkt heldt De likevekta,
og som eine og andre pusen,
ungar i leiken yr og spretten,
tok dei små føtene Dykkar tusen
steg som lynte på parketten,
og som insekt, av gullet smykka,
skein det mot oss, namnet Dykkar.
Og i stunda da De snakka,
for framandt vi i hjartet takka,
når De kasta til oss blomen
frå ein kunst vi ikkje kjende,
ord vi ikkje forsto, men
følte, oss inn i rusen sende,
og vi bare om sola trudde
ho i ein japanar-tanke budde.
