Õhtu

Вечер

Tuul täna tiivutult ja raskelt käib!
Kui mõranenud melon loojak näib.

Ja loidu pilve taevarännakul
Soov kergelt käega tõugata on sul.

See pikaline õhtu on üks neid,
Mil kutsar jooksma sunnib hobuseid,

Aer nobedamalt kaluril käib vees
Ning ägedamalt raiub metsamees

Mäeküljel tamme, mis on suur ja lai…
See aga, kelle kätte antud sai

Maa kulgemise saatus, kelles koos
On rütme kordumatus lennuhoos,

Loob tiivustavaid värsse, mille sõud
Öötardumusest päästab ürgsed jõud

Cain’s Descendants

He didn’t deceive us, that sad, somber spirit / Who wears the morning star as pseudonym / And said: "Shun not the highest gain, nor fear it: / Taste of the fruit and you will equal Him." / / Instantly, for the youth, all roads lay open, / And for old men, all mysteries to know, / ...

The Worker

He’s standing there, beside the glowing furnace, / A small man, probably older than you’d think. / His gaze is peaceful, seems almost submissive / From the way his reddened eyelids blink. / / All his workmates have knocked off - they’re sleeping / But he’s still ...

The Lost Tram

I was walking an obscure route / And abruptly I heard caws of crows, / A distant thunder and a tinkling lute: / A rushing tram was really close. / / How I leapt to its step / Is still a mystery to me. / It left a fiery track beyond itself / Which even in the daylight I could see. ...

The Word

That day when over world newborn / God would reveal his face / Sun could be stopped by word alone / Word could destroy a place / / Hawks dared not to strike their wings / The stars drew closer to the Moon / When as aurora in the skies / A word would drift along / / A number was...

I trusted, I thought...

I trusted, I thought and the light for me shone at last. / For ever Creator let fate have my soul, forever. / I am sold and alone! My god went away so fast. / My buyer is looking at me - he is mocking and clever. / / My Yesterday rushes at me like a big flying hill / And like an abyss b...

Giraffe

Today what I see is the glance of yours so very sad / And arms ‘round lap are so specially lean...you kno’ what / Just listen: so far, truly far, on the lake known as (T)chad / Roams courtly a camelopard. / / What’s given to him? That’s the grace and a bliss in a ...
