Сон. Утренняя болтовня

Σήμερα είστε τόσο όμορφη,
Τι είδατε στον ύπνο σας,
- Την όχθη, ιτιές
το γέρμα της Σελήνης. -

Και τι άλλο; Σε τελική ανάλυση,
Δεν έρχονται αν δεν αγαπούν.
- Την Δεισδαιμόνα
Κι εμένα. -

Δείχνετε τόσο αστεία:
Ποιος κρυβόταν πίσω απ’ τις ιτιές;
Ήταν ο Οθέλλος,
Ήταν όμορφος. –

Ήταν για σας άξιος διπλά;
Ήταν για σας σαν σεληνόφως;
- Ναι, είναι πολεμιστής
Και ποιητής.

Ω, με ποια λόγια τραγούδησε
Την κεκρυμμένη ομορφιά;
- Με λόγια για την έρημο
Και τ’ όνειρο.

Κι εσείς ακούγατε ερωτευμένη
Δίχως να μπορείτε την θλίψη σας να κρύψετε;
- Η Δεισδαιμόνα,
Όχι εγώ.
