Пять быков

Процював я п’ять років у пана,
випасав у степах його коней,
і за це я отримав у нього
п’ять волів, до ярма вже привченних.
Одного з них зарізано левом.
Я знайшов на траві левів послід,-
треба краще крааль боронити,
треба з ночі палити багаття.
Другий раптом побіг, бо сказився,
дзвінкою ужалений осою.
Я блукав п’ять діб в диких хащах
та ні де вола не побачив.
Двом волам підсипав сусіда
прямо в їжу отруйного зілля,
і воли валилися долу,
а язик ставав у них синім.
Тож останнього взяв й сам зарізав,
щоб було мені чим святкувати
у годину, як дім запалав у сусіда,
там горланив господар, він зв’язаний був.
